I'm back from OBS!
19th to 23rd,
built the greatest bond that no class can ever have.
Washington's loveeeee.
The 5 days spent at PulauUbin! (:
19th January
Bused to PunggolJetty,
chitchat with Geraldine, Waisze and HoiLeng.
The class broke into 2 groups,
Washington and TockSeng.
I had the greatest watchmates:
Preya, AudreyTan, AudreyWong, Aqida, Yaisyah, YiYing, YingYun, YanJie, MingKit(Mother), Kazuki(Father), Ruthie(Nanny), YuYun and Adliya!
Our partner school was SerangoonSecondary.
We had icebreaker activites like the "soft trust fall".
Walked to and fro base camp manymany times,
always had to pass by the Serangoon people.
Me and YuYun were walking past the toilet,
this guy kept waving and saying Hello to us and i ignored.
So he looked at me and said : "Action bodoh!" (-.-)
Walked past their dormitory,
another guy was shouting from the top :
"Excuse me girl, can I have your number?"
Me and YuYun : (-Ran into the store.)
Pitched our tents halfway up the hill.
Played Tommy&Sally at the Jetty at night after dinner.
It was pitch dark when we made our way up to our tents to sleep after our activites
and some of us got kinda scared of the dark.
20th January
Woken up by YingYun and YuYun at 530 in the morning.
They heard the cockerel but i didn't. ):
The sun haven't rose even when we finished unpitching our tents.
It was still very dark
and i nearly smashed my face into a hugehuge spider web with a spider on it.
Flag-raising in the morning,
played goodmorning games and warmed up.
Carried the kayaks to the shore,
including TockSeng's.
Did the rescue and capsize drill.
Capsizing was fun!
Swimming in the deep waters. (:
Got up the kayak by the giving birth style,
Adliya couldn't, so George helped her up using the mermaid style and push her butt up.
Did rock climbing after washing up.
After i've climbed,
I helped MingKit belay Adliya.
Adliya didn't dare to climb, her legs kept shaking.
When she was halfway through,
she kept falling and the rope went up,
pulling me along with Mingkit.
I "flew" quite a few times.
There was once that Mingkit pulled my shirt when i almost hung on the rope. (LOL)
Helped Adliya to complete the task by encouraging her and giving her tips. (:
My hands were tomato red after belaying.
Pitched our tents beside the Indiana(ship), facing the sea. (:D)
The view was superb!
21st January
Flag-raising again in the morning,
played games with SerangoonSecondary.
Packed our backpacks for expedition,
then went to this dark tunnel for a task.
Next, we did a rescue again,
but on logs.
We had miscommunications and some people had unhappy faces. ):
We failed the task,
but we learnt alot from it. (:
Started kayaking to KeKek,
it was more than 6km long.
Most boys school take 1 and a half hour to reach,
and we took 2 hours! (YAY)
The rest of the groups took more than 3 hours, even 5 hours.
The Serangoon people were there before us,
the Malay guys were shouting for Yaisyah when they saw her.
Cause they saw her name on the class shirt she wore.
They "kindly" helped us take our bottles and stuff to our campsite.
Joined the cooking team of the day,
helped to cook dinner. (:
We didn't get to bathe cause there wasn't any proper toilets,
so we just cleaned ourselves up with baby wipes and powder.
Went to wash our utensils by the beach,
then lay a tub on the floor to star gaze.
PulauUbin has prettypretty stars!
22nd January
Woken up by YingYun, YuYun and YanJie.
Ate Mentos to freshen up my breath.
(No toilet, I can't brush my teeth.)
Played Whole-body-RockScissorsPaper.
The forfeit was DodoFishball. (HAHA)
Soon after everyone was done with taking their backpacks,
we set off for trekking at around 10am.
It was really tiring,
and AudreyWong nearly gave up.
Despite her being so "small",
she carried her backpack and also helped carry the bottles.
After the first checkpoint,
I took over as the navigator.
Walked up a hill to the highest point of PulauUbin,
it had a greatgreat view.
We shouted, and echoes came back.
Walking down hill, we found the second checkpoint.
After lunch at the foot of the hill,
we set off again.
We cheered as we walked,
sung PowerpuffGirls, SpongebobSquarepants, etcetc.
Me and Ruthie were cheering them on,
while looking at the map to find out which path to go.
We played a game,
and we successfully completed it
so we didn't have to go to the third and fourth checkpoints.
Lead the team through the shortest route,
passed by Camp2 and waved Hello at our other class friends.
Continued walking and tried not to stop.
Had Kazuki's help,
reached Camp1 in no time.
Everyone was really happy to be back,
and it was already 5pm by then.
7hours of trekking.
GREAT EXERCISE, RIGHT PEEPO? (:P)
i was like Burnburnburn calories, burnburnburn.
1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, ..
(Sorry for the lameness.)
I was EEE-ing at all the insects and dirty stuff.
So all of the other Washington people were like : No wonder your name's EEE-Lyn.
Me : Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo. ):
Washed up,
met TockSeng,
and the Serangoon guys were shouting and calling for me and Kazuki as we walked past. (-.-)
Ignorance is bliss! (:D)
At night,
all the TKGS peeps gathered at the hall and played the "200s Challenge".
Got second place!
Lost to the first by 1 second. ):
Slept in the hall,
didn't have blanket and i only wore my PE shirt and FBT shorts.
Nearly froze to death.
Sorry YanJie, for sleeping like a "cockroach" and smacking you in my sleep. (:X)
Today
Woke up at 530am and started cleaning up base camp,
then played Wheelbarrow, Toiletbowl, Starfish, DinnerTable.
Next, we played Beauty and the Beast. (:
Went to have breakfast when we were done.
Back up to base camp to clean the utensils and tents.
I was the "Lapsapsao"(Rubbish picker) with YiYing.
I found this underwear and i was like : "Walaoeh who's underwear!?"
The guys were cleaning their mats and they shouted back : Mine mine mine!"
Me: You sure or not?
Guys : Yah yah.
Me : Okay, give you. (throw the underwear towards them)
The wind was kinda strong so it fell to the drain.
I picked it up, then went right in front of the guys and put the underwear on their mat.
They held it up with the broom and started swinging it around.
I went to take it back from the guy and threw it in the bin.
Guys : Why throw my underwear!
Me : (ignore and walked down to the store)
Came up,
the guys were crowding at their mats and pointed at me : Underwear girl!
Me : (-'-)
Guys : Woahhhhhhhhhhh.
Me : (-.-)
Scrubbed the utensils with sand until we got really frustrated.
Brought our bags down to the hall,
then we sat in a circle to reflect and eat at the same time.
Miss and MrsTan were both sick, so MrsLee came.
talked till everyone started crying except me and Yaisyah.
Gave certificates,
biggggggggggg happy hugs!
Got our photo and shirts,
gathered and prepared to leave.
Everyone were so reluctant and thanked our instructors lots of times.
GekFong and Gideon nearly cried when we said bye. ):
Slept in the bus from PunggolJetty to TKGS.
Papa came to pick me up! (:
Ate BurgerKing.
